If I make an offer on this boat it will be subject to survey.  I was talking
to a friend of mine who mentioned that for cosmetic reasons I could have the
entire cockpit area redone. Like you mentioned by opening up the crack and
filing it with epoxy, then repaint. Have never own a sailboat before and
consider myself fairly handy, how much of this work can I perform if any or
should I let experts handle all of it.  I have a shop big enough to
accommodate an A30, and was thinking of maybe attempting to repaint the hull
myself.  I've painted a few cars before and they came out not too bad.  Is
there a special technique for repainting hull or is it just spray painted
and air dry.  Being so far from salt water, people around here seems to
think air dried would do the trick.....I more concerned about salt water
reacting to paint job.
