An FYI on VDO Sumlog Knotmeter

Since I posted this message I have discovered that Holland Marine
Products in Toronto, Ontario have propellers for the VDO Sumlog
Knotmeters. They are $42.00 CDN dollars plus shipping.

Hi All,

Is it still possible to get parts for the VDO Speed/knot meter?

The VDO Speed gage works fine but the propeller is damaged and leaking
oil back through the hull fitting and left a stain on the outside of the
hull.

If it is not possible to replace the outside hull fittings and propeller
what are some suggestions to installing a modern speed instrument?

It would be great to find replacement parts and since the old unit(it
lasted 29 yrs) seems to be a reliable low tech device that does not need
power.
