Well, the point I was trying for is non one design sailing is more a sail
with a little structure to it than a learning experience. The starts in St.
Michaels featured everything from a Swede 55 to a laser. I guess one can
learn something even in those circumstances, but, again, if gaining
knowledge of how to make your boat go fast is of interest to you, one
design is the ticket. Sailing in a fleet of penguins is of more value than
aforementioned mixed fleet. But then, that woulden't be sailing the Alberg.
Sailing is full of compromises...
