Please forgive further discussion of diesels. This seems an opportune moment to
ask the opinions of this list about a Farymann diesel I have learned of.
Would this be suitable for an A-30?
Does any of you know what would be a fair price for this?
Here is what I know:
It is a model A-40M, 12 HP Farymann diesel engine, 582ccs, 2500 RPM
Bore is 95mm.
It came out of a 1974 10 metre Pearson, the hull of which was irreparably damaged
in a land accident.
It is a single cylinder, water-cooled engine with an electric start and hand
crank available. It weighs about 170 pounds.
The transmission has forward & reverse, with remote controls,
Includes stainless drive shaft, more than a metre long and
bronze prop with 2 blades, marked "Sailor" Grand Rapids Michigan 11r h7
It turns freely, the alternator runs; it was properly serviced during layup, but
not run for four years.
All specs, graphs and torques available, provided by Farymann.

Your opinions would be valued.
