"Seafoam" is great sh..tuff. I use it in my turck (260K miles) and it quiets
the valve clatter a lot. I bought it at NAPA Annapolis.

I have rebuilt 2 atomic 4's and am on to my third this winter. Several
suggestions:
1. Pour a product called "seafoam" or "deep creep" into the cylinders.
Don Moyer might suggest Marvel Mystery Oil but the guys who have used
the deep creep product feel it is 100 times better than MMO. However if
the cylinders are seized you may have a problem getting them loose.
2. Contact Don as he does engine rebuilding & has motors readily
available. Web site is moyermarine.com & no he has not moved, he is
still in Harrisburg.
3.I have entertained a motor alternative as the cost for a remanned A4
are on par with putting a new motor in. Depending on your level of sweat
equity. That engine is the Betamarine Diesel. I have reviewed many of
the other motors in the A30 community but feel that this motor is not
only a drop in upgrade but a universally serviceable engine with a
foundation built on a kubota motor. Just somthing to think about. The
betamarine is $6,000 a quality A4 rebuild will be : parts $2,500 and
labor @ $2,500 minimum. That labor figure is less if you do the the
hefting out & back in.

The motor I have for this winter is a beautiful block but I believed it
seized. so I am in a similar situation. I have had the cylinders
soaking in MMI & deepcreep for 1.5 years.

If you have any further questions e-mail me off list. I be happy to
help.
