You could try the white plastic tape that is used to patch heavy duty shrink 
wrapping jobs when the propane torch burns through. When placed on a clean dry 
surface it is extremey water and UV proof for about six months. If you make a 
little "curtesy flap" on the end of each piece by folding over the last half 
inch of the edge, you shloud be able to rip it off and clean with quick wipe 
of someting that won't damage fiberglass if not left on for long, like acetone, 
and then do a permanent repair. The only problem is on diamond pattern, where 
you can't get an edge seal on the tape. It won't last as long there. But, in 
general, it takes a long time to break down and the glue is made to be 
waterproof. You  can get it from American Shrinkwrap (americanshrinkwrap.com) on the 
web.
