Hello All:

I am in need of a reality check on insurance premiums.  Here is the scoop:  I have received a couple
of insurance quotes for my A30 from International Marine Insurance Services (IMIS) in Grasonville,
MD.  They are a reputable outfit, and come highly recommended from others on this site.   Here are
the 2 quotes received:
(Note both quotes are for a hull valuation of $17,500, liability of $300,000)


1)  Agreed Value quote (partial losses repaired minus deductable ($500).  Yearly premium $782.

2)  Actual Cash Value quote (In case of partial loss, they will depreciate the part being repaired
due to age).  For an A30, 1968 vintage, you can see that the depreciation would be quite sizable!
Yearly Premium $434

 It would be nice to have the comfort of the agreed value policy, but not at $782/year.  Has anyone
else done better out there?
