[Public-list] Osmosis

They were wet bubbles, about 5mm wide, I guess. They were easy enough to
spot once I had keyed the old antifoul. I ground them out so the affected
area was all removed and dried the holes with a heat gun. This would have
only dried the immediate area rather than allowing the hull to dry more
thoroughly, but time was at a premium that haul out. Hopefully next time
I'll get the chance to investigate further. I filled each hole with epoxy
and chopstrand glass, faired with microbaloons and sealed with an epoxy
primer. I have since learned that epoxy isn't as impermeable to water as I
had believed and have been recommended to use vinylester instead. This is a
product with which I am unfamiliar.

I had also some crazing around my cocks, I believe as a result of
electrolisis. I have rewired these to their anode, but the gelcoat is
cracked and so will allow water in. Another job for next time...

I have considered the idea of removing the gelcoat and drying and resealing
the hull, but this seems a very drastic solution.
