I had the aluminum piston from my previous inboard boat engine MIG or TIG welded by a welding shop. Cost $50.00. Lasted at least 2 years and was working when I sold the boat. A lot more impact forces on a piston than a boom. Ed. Schroeder #303 Emotional Rescue 1090764353.0
