[Public-list] Mast support beam

Mike,

I gathered from Phil Beigel at one of the seminar gatherings this winter
at your house that he or some one he knew had done this repair and that
there were support members that extend below the cabin sole and often fail
and must be re glassed.

I was not then & obviously not clear on this as I would have thought that
the beam would have been fixed into the hull like the wooden beams.
According to the story I got, infact, there are support members that
maintain the placement and height of the beam and extend to the hull.

Can this be? therefore it is repairable by manipulating the position of
the beams if it fails?
