Lately I have been working on my mast and the associated wiring.  As I prepare to re-step the mast, I started thinking about lightning protection.  I have looked at a number of Alberg 30's and other boats with encapsulated ballast keels and do not see any copper bottoms to ensure proper protection.  Obviously, my boat has been floating for 33 years without any mishap but what if?

Does anyone else worry about this?  Is the forestay and its connection to the metal strip that goes under the waterline sufficient?
