[Public-list] Masthead Toggles

Chris and all,

For some reason the email to Allen the owner of Thunder bounces and he needs
to receive this information sent previously.

Chris and I talked this evening concerning the toggles and fitting them to
the mast head. Chris is going to remove 1/16 inch by grinding the toggles
(or so) on each side so they fit into the new mast head. When the toggles
are on the mast head you will pick up 2 inches at the mast head on the
forestay which will make up some of the difference in length.

In an email sent to those Alberg owners this morning who purchased mast
heads, I will verify toggle dimensions Monday when people are available to
provide specs.

Stephen and all,

Today I stepped the mast and found the forestay 6 inches shorter without the
new toggle, so I used the aft most pin on the bow plate with only a few
turns on the turnbuckle to keep the stay on.

The 1/2 hole in the new mast head seems to be 1/4 inch too high for these
toggles. If the hole was 1/4 lower, these toggles would fit perfectly. Which
causes me to think that probably there could of been an error in the shop.

Whatever the case I'm sure we will find something.
