The Sand Hole is an awesome spot but the entrance is so complicated that we would only be able to enter at high tide. I used to frequent that spot as a power-boater and speaking of power boats, this spot is very, very packed with them. Sandy Hook sounds fantastic, a place called Horeshoe Cove has been recomended in the past.
I have always wanted to go up-river too, so I would favor Sandy Hook or Nyack.
Ocean-rafting......hmmmm..sounds like Alfredo alright :)
