[Public-list] teak deck caulk

Hi George, this same job has been done on Kalitsah by her previous owners.
They used teak planking they retrieved from a yard skip. As far as I can
tell, the teak is attached to the hatches with sika. I imagine that epoxy
would be too firm for the teak, which in my experience is a wood which likes
to expand and contract a fair bit.

A good bet may well be to question the methods used in a modern yard where
glass boats have teak decks laid onto the moulded decks. I can't think
offhand of which American manufacturers do this, but there must be a few
about. But my inclination would be to use an adhesive at least as flexible
as the wood.

An advantage of planking the locker covers is that they look fantastic!
Good luck with the project.

Cheers,
David Fisher
