Jeremy,
Congratulations.  I checked out your boat in Ft. Myers Beech and put Kim in touch with the original seller.  Too bad Kim could not complete the work.  Take your time, do only what is needed to make the boat seaworthy and safe and then enjoy sailing her for a while.  Trying to do tooo much too soon will only burn you out and frustrate you in the long run.  Your boat has been neglected yes but not really abused, except from Hurricane Charlie.  When I saw the boat one spreader was in place that you could use for a pattern to make a new set.  Just remember that the purchase price you paid will be the only good deal you ever get on your boat.  Things can be very expensive if you have to pay others.  If you can do the work yourself, many times the better, just remember to pace yourself.
 
My only interest in this/your boat was to see it go to a good home and be brought back.  Your boat is basically solid.  It is a shame,........................no, it is a Sin, ...........to allow a boat as fine as the Alberg 30 go to ruin.
 
Good Luck.  You will find all the help and expertise that you will need on this list.   Someone on this list has 'been there done that' for each and every possible refit/repair project on the Alberg 30.  No need for you to ever venture into the unknown.  Just remember this, when you bring your Alberg 30 back from neglect, she will forever be grateful and will take you out to sea and bring you back like few others can.
