Roger,

Not sure what the structural implications of drilling Delrin cylinders
are, the sheave was so much lighter than the aluminium equivalent that I
didn't worry too much.  I would suggest contacting the manufacturer, he
makes a number of shaves of this type/material every year, he may have
some thoughts on your question.

Got mine to.  It's actually quite attractive.  Weird how sailboat
hardware 
is "functional art."  Don't suppose it would be feasible to drill holes
in 
the side to reduce the 13 oz. weight (as if I don't have enough to do).
