The true value of an Alberg 30, IMO, depends mostly on condition and 
somewhat on location.  If you want an "official" figure, you can get the 
BUC book quote from any boat broker or marine insurance salesman.  I 
tend to take BUC with a grain of salt, particularly for a boat such as 
the Alberg 30.  They tend to force the data into their preconceived 
ideas.  But if that number works for you, I'm sure the taxman will take 
it.  If you want a lower number, I'd suggest collecting a number of "for 
sale" ads that feature the number you want.
