North shore of Long Island is a great marketting area. (I've bought several
boats out of Huntington and Oyster Bay). I sail out of Brooklyn (better,
more dependable wind). The only problem with your North Shore area is that
there are always a lot of boats on the market. Real fixer uppers at fixer
upper prices are rare though. You'll need to find a buyer that can undertake
the refit / rebuild, so that might take some time. Your best bet might be to
donate it to a non profit and take the tax write off. Otherwise, costs will
just keep on adding up until you find someone to take it off your hands for
way less than you want to accept.
I wish I had the time to undertake another rebuild. I'm sure she could be
quite beautiful when done.
Good Luck,
