Hi George,

Thanks very much for your reply.  Gives me a little more confidence I can open up the existing assembly and reuse it. I am just ready to open up the rudder around the lower shaft tomorrow.  I did read your on-line coments and looked at the different rudder photos--very helpful

Can you comment on how many longitudinal pins were holding your shaft tight with the foam core, and perhaps what size and length they were?
