[Public-list] Spreader Replacement

Mike,

	I did receive the plate -  it looks great,  thanks.  Check's in the 
mail.   Re. spar:  Length of the spreader is 36" and diameter midway is 
just under 1.75" but, at the junction with the ss mast fitting (under 
the rubber boot)  it is significantly less.  The bottom of the spreader 
at this point cut through, as you described.  Will go with the 6061.   
My spreader tips are also badly corroded.  Can these be purchased, or 
must I have a machine shop fabricate them?   I'm going down to Berkeley 
tonight to prep 455 for the truck trip north to Eureka on Tuesday.    
Since this will be a ground-up reassembly project, I'll be picking your 
collective brains for advice.    Thanks again Mike and to all for your
