[Public-list] [Racing-list] lazy guys

CB-

Yeah, I thought of twings, which is pretty standard practice for
dinghies as I said before.

The thing is I think the guy load is too high to use a twing to bring
the guy down. ALso, if you forget to pull it on during the gybe, good
luck getting it on after the guy is loaded. Maybe you are strong
enough to do that when it's breeze on, but I doubt that I am.

If there are people out there who are doing this, please say so. I
would love to hear how that works.

No, my thought was that lazy guys would be better than twings, with
the sheets led to cabintop winches to keep the trimmer out of the way
and allow flying the kite through the gybe using the sheets on the
winches. Also, all you really have to do to set this up is add one
block and some line

But twings for the sheets would be good to stabilize the leech. And
the twing load on the sheet would be much smaller than trying to twing
the guy down. So you could use smaller blocks, smaller line, etc.

It's good to keep each other on our toes. I'll be doing my doggonedest
to return the favor, chief.

Later,

J
