[Public-List] cowl vent color etiquette

Here's one for the traditionalists:  At long last I've found old, heavy bronze cowl vents for my boat.  Two are unfinished inside, and two are painted in a garish, almost neon red.  Is the color/finish of the interior of the cowl vent simply a matter of personal preference, or is there a preferred way to do it?  In case it matters, the hull is flag blue (a very dark blue).  The deck is white, the nonskid light blue.
