I am thinking of getting a new anchor so I have done some research.I find the breaking strain of 5/16 chain is about #1800,on anchor tests #5000 seems to be the limit at which the anchor breaks out or the test is concluded.
The breaking strain of 3 twist 1/2" nylon is about #6000.I have been using 9/16" nylon which has less elasticity than 1/2".
Question:is 9/16" nylon overkill for an Alberg 30?
