I believe the early boats did not have a shaft log seal on the rudderpost but relied on a fiberglass tube that extended above the waterline. If yours is an early boat perhaps the tube has sprung a leak. The solution is either to patch the tube or pull the rudder and install a shaft log seal. - Gordon White, Brigadoon II 1189596286.0
