I'll second C.B. on it is much easier to pull the engine into the cabin.  In either case you will have to realign it and I would rather have it sitting on a plastic sheet (to catch any small parts and spilled oil.  Also you will be able to sit down on the job and see what you are doing rather than standing on your head and working braile.
