[Public-List] wood inset in hatches and seats

Since I have owned Alert, about 2 and a half years, I have replaced the
aft hatch using mahogany; the half inch plastic locker hatches with one
inch teak with bracings underneath each one; a new icebox cover using
teak to replace the half inch plastic that had sealed the open area; and
new teak on the companionway cover top. Fortunately, these items could
be taken to another location for sealing and varnishing before
installation.

This past winter I built a new aft hatch, cockpit locker hatches,
dorade box, icebox cover ect. I used African Mahogany instead of teak.
Dovetails & epoxy glue. None of these items has seen any weather yet.
Lots of work, but gave me something to do in the barn on winter
evenings.
