[Public-List] Spin Pole Height

I understand the purpose in adjusting pole height but wonder if pole track is really that necessary or if playing topping lift and foreguy is sufficient for adjusting height. Presumably adjusting using only the topping lift and foreguy would adjust the straight line distance of the pole but only slightly.

If you do put a track on, how long is the track and at what height? Are people who are racing playing track during the race or just playing topping lift/foreguy?

The Track has 2 purposes when used. You have to adjust the track so that
both tack and clew are the same heigth and secondly when you release the
spinnaker sheet a little it should break evenly all the way down the luff
this can be accomplished with the adjustment of the topping lift and down
haul. Lastly make sure the pole is 90deg to the apparent wind.
