Hi Mick,

 

That must be a tremendous relief.  What did you find was preventing the rudder post from coming out and, presumably, preventing water from running through?

 

It might be of value to others on the list if you could take some pictures of your disassembled rudder and send them to George Dinwiddie to put up on the website.
