I am a friend of Brent Creelman of the museum and had tried to buy the 
main from the Museum's boat that's how I know about the rudder post. 
Again with the mid winter brainfog but I think I remember Brent 
mentioning that the Museum's A30 had been on some rocks before the 
donation.
As to Malama, I bought her from a guy in Big Pine Key last April and 
her  trucked to Beaufort. Her name when I bought her was Jotsu and had 
been registered with home port of Longboat Key, FL. In the spreadsheet 
with the Association #265 was last mentioned as belonging to a Paul 
Beard of Maryland in 1970 and named then,Ciao. I'm doing slow upgrades 
as the pocket allows. My wife and I sail her locally whenever weather 
and life permit. She looks rough but sails real.............. well, you 
know (Malama , not my wife)
