[Public-List] Bilge pumping using the auxillary engine

Personally I would consider this as a last resort action.  As mentioned it doesn't take much debris to take out the pump and then you are powerless.  Also most small diesels and gas burners don't throw that much water.  I would think a large electric pump, it could be an manually switched or automatic or Water Puppy style would be a better move.  Of course if you get a major leak even these may not be enough.

Don't forget the simple bucket,  A man standing up to his knees in water can move a lot of it.
