[Public-List] Gas tank (stupid) question

One idea might be to put a primer bulb on the line just prior to the engine. The manual for my Yanmar suggests this approach and I can't see why it would not work in your application!

All -

I had to pull the gas tank out of my 1967 Alberg 30 & clean out a bunch of crud.  The tank is clean now, and I plan to blow out the lines & replace the filter this weekend.  I also cleaned out the carb.  My tank is located high in the starboard cockpit locker.  My question is, How do I get the fuel to come up the fuel line and down to the fuel filter & carb?  Do I just crank the engine over for a few hours while the fuel pump applies suction?  Seems like there should be a better way.  Thanks for any & all suggestions.
