Mine has a bypass switch which allows you to get the engine started if the initial oil pressure is too low

Correct me if I am wrong, but is the electric fuel pump supposed to run
through the oil presure switch on late model A4's. Mine is the mechanical
pump version and to prime I remove the copper pipe between the pump and
carb but leaving the pump side connected then by pumping and holding my
finger over the fuel outlet of the copper pipe this creates suction I can
fill the bowl, when full re-connect the copper pipe and continue pumping
until the carb is full.
