[Public-List] Cockpit Drain Seacocks

Hello David -

The only reason I can imagine one would close one valve would be to  
remove that assembly from the potential risk of losing the boat  
through a hose failure.   Assuming the hoses and clamps are in good  
shape, the chances of such a thing occurring are so remote that I  
would not think it worth doing.  That said... it can't hurt because  
one does not need the maximum drainage capacity just to deal with rain.

On the other hand, if the boat is not perfectly on her lines  
athwartships, and you accidentally close the valve on the low side,  
you will have water pooling in the cockpit.  Not a big deal.
