Larry,

The Alberg 22 is a nice boat but please check out the Kittywake 23 also designed by Alberg, the Seafarer 23 Kestrel model designed by Sparkman and Stephens, the Sea Sprite 23 and the Southern Cross 22. All of these boats are nicely designed fairly well built boats which follow the CCA design rule.
While I own an Alberg 30, I believe that design of the Seafarer 23 is a bit more attractive than the Alberg22. The Seafarer 23 I own is a 1966 model, same year as my Alberg 30. Their underbodies are almost identical, with the exception that the Seafarer is a full keel/centerboarder. The beauty of her design is that she is 3,400# with a 13 foot long keel, but draws only 2'4" with the board up. Initially tender as is the A-30 she stiffens up nicely even though she has a shallow draft. This is really nice for the West coast of Florida where she is sailed. Another nice feature of the Seafarer 23 is that the outboard is in an aft lazarette long enough that it can be tilted up out of the water while sailing.
Most of these boats have their own Web Sites so check them out.

I recently sold my Alberg 30 two years ago. I am looking for something smaller. There is an Alberg 22 available. It looks very good but I did not know that there was a 22 built. Does anyone know about a 22 Alberg and its quality?
