The sailmakers at Quantum in Traverse City told me that they saw 130% as a standard cruising headsail. For an area like ours where days in the 15-25 kts range do not come too often, most people would be happy with a 130% in most condtions and roll it up for windy conditions. For windy condtions or an area that typically has a lot of wind, they prefer a 110% jib. I hope this helpful.

I jest. Looking for advice, information etc. on what we might be looking for. We plan to cruise every summer in the NorthWest BC Desolation Sound and North thereof. We do not intend to race. What size? ( We sail in the lightest airs for as long as possible and don't mind hunkering down in a 25 to 30 knot breeze!!) Regards Jonathan Whittingham EMMY#25.
