Acid leakage - belt and suspenders.

Wouldn't want a litre of lead laced acid to be pumped overboard - it would 
end life on the earth as we know it.

I never understood the need for battery boxes when the batteries are under 
the cabin sole (basically in a box) and strapped down. Why does one need a 
plastic box too?
