[Public-List] reswaging?

Hi there - 

I have seen swages sawed open... Inside the sleeve of the terminal there
isn't any space for water... The division between the wire and the sleeve is
impossible to detect.  I don't think water can get far enough in to make
trouble.

Now if it did, and managed to spread the sleeve.... I would expect cracks to
appear in the sleeve.  I have never, ever, heard of this happening, but this
would be very bad and re-pressing the sleeves would not fix the problem.
Further, I'd worry that re-pressing the terminals might lead to fatiguing or
work hardening the already quite brittle stainless steel.  Anybody out there
knowledgeable about how stainless steel copes with such treatment?
