[Public-List] Stern Gland Housing Question

I've just removed the stern gland housing as I want to replace the cutlass bearing. On removal I found there is a bronze bushing inside the housing which is either meant to be part of the housing or part of the bearing. I see that you can buy two types of bearing with or without a bronze backing for the nitrile rubber. I am hoping that the bearing to go back in is one which has the bronze bushing as the bushing I found inside the housing is poor shape. I hope though that it can pressed out easily but it looks like it may be difficult.

If the bearing is composed of only the nitrile rubber then how should I glue it into the bearing (the rubber is glued onto the bronze bushing on the one I took off). Finally, are the housings still available new?

Many thanks
