[Public-List] side mount outboard

Have you thought about just going electric using the same prop you are using now. Unhook the engine and hook up a golf cart motor. If your only using it for emergencies it should work long enough. Just throwing it out there.

Hello everyone aka list - I know this is a sensitive subject.  I will do my best to tread lightly.  I am a gluten for punishment, although new to my Alberg 30 # 400, this is my second Atomic 4.  After being stranded outside a lift bridge that will only allow you to motor through I decided it will also be my last.  I know it has been done, hoping someone can point me in the direction  of how to mount an outboard to the side as opposed to the stern.  I would like to add a self steering system in the near future.  I have contacted Cape Horn Wind vane with no response as to purchasing a mounting system or details to make one.

As for the chop and being stranded that way, I would be much happier smashing against a rocky shore with the sound of a motor running than doing so because my atomic bomb failed me yet again.

Thank you in advance.

Paul
