[Public-List] Depth sounder location

On my 1967 (pre-liner) boat, I mounted the new transducer inside the hull.  It (and the original through-hull transducer) are slightly farther aft than you are talking about, and on the port side (underneath the berth, just aft of the bulkhead).  The inside-mounted transducer works just fine.  It might have less range than a through-hull type but up to 60' or so (all I bother to check) I don't see a difference.  I originally mounted mine that way because the old unit failed right after launch & I didn't want to re-haul the boat, but it is going on 4 years now.  If this one fails I can replace it easily & without hauling the boat.

Greetings,

I am planning on installing a uniden sounder just abaft the original starboard transducer in the wet locker. Can anyone provide the angle of hull deadrise in this area? Thanks.
