Rod,
The goop and good tape or adhesive heatshrink is my normal approach...

I know one has to take extra measures when drilling through cored  
areas. I didn't realize solid fiberglass would have an issue. Will  
"painting" it with epoxy do the trick or does it require the same  
treatment as a hole through a cored section. I was planning to use a  
liberal amount of 5200. (it's metal so I can always heat it if I  
really want to pull it.)
