Gord... A final thought. I neglect to remember you folks live in the frozen 
North. There's a possibility that the engine just didn't thoroughly warm 
up. They'll smoke a lot (including white) until the engine is fully warm. 
If you have bypassed the thermostat (like me) that may just mean it's 
running cold and there's no dire problem.
