[Public-List] Atomic 4 Burning oil

Fellow Alberg Owners;

My engine is 36 years old and has been more than dependable and trouble
free. Unfortunately the boat has not been used often the last two years.
After sitting idle for the past 3 months I recently drove it to a nearby
marina to top off the fuel for the winter and notice a cloud of blue
smoke. I don't know if not being use has caused the rings to stick  Other
than sitting idle the only thing I did differently was to add 1 pint of
Marvel Mystery oil during the last oil change about 1 1/2 months ago. At
that time I ran the engine at a last idle in the slip but didn't notice any
oil burning

Frankly I'm not really an engine Mechanic and I am not familiar with all of
the causes of oil burning.

I don't think I would be interested in spending $6000 - $8000 to covert to
diesel.

Would any of you be able to suggest  options for having the engine repaired?
