Another alternative is to purchase a Kubota diesel through ebay - there 
are several 722's and D902's for sale that could be rehabbed and 
marinized. Likely this would be less of a cost than buying a new one 
from Beta. several from 500 there. If you are hands on and able to do 
the mechanical work.
