[Public-List] Need a new diesel

Hello Fellow Albergers!
My 1966 Alberg 30, Sabrina, has had a mortal failure of her 80s universal diesel.  Now I'm faced with the dilemma of how to repower her.  The mechanic I talked with deals in Westerbeke and is steering me that way.  What modern diesels have others used?  Is Yanmar better?  Others?  Help please!  This is going to cost a bilge full of gold coins to fix and I want to make the best choice so that Sabrina will be around another 50 years.
