Chris
 This is not really surpising
I have to scrape the prop regularly from May to Sep or suffer this kind of slowness

Subject: [Public-List] Foul Prop

Hello All

Quick question for anyone on the Chesapeake. Last time on the boat, ~3 weeks ago, the diesel was working hard yet my top speed was not quite 3. No issues under sail, at least I was going faster than 3! This lack of power really made docking tough, reverse was almost non-existant.

I checked for bad fuel and looked at the filters hoping for some simple. Fuel was fine. I took a swim the other day and found the prop so fouled it was hard to feel metal. Wow, it's hard to believe the growth was so bad so quickly; fresh bottom and paint this spring. I usually only motor to the channel and maybe for up to 30 min if the wind is dead. Also, I try to get out every other weekend so I use the boat if not a lot. Prior to ~3 weeks ago I didnt notice a problem but I guess it just wasnt quite as bad yet.

Anyone else have similar growth this year? I'll have to read up and see what I can do to hopefully limit this in the future.

Thanks

Chris
