It's not a "gouge," it's what they think the market will bear.  If
people DO pay that price, why should they lower it?

Some folks shop at WM for the convenience of getting something "right
now."  I do that occasionally, though my first go-to place is Defender. 
I've had customer service issues with Jamestown on more than one
occasion and avoid them where possible.

I tend to forget about the West price match thing, and when I need
something urgently enough to go there and get it (vice waiting for an
order from Defender), I'm generally not anywhere near a computer or
printer, etc, and I'm usually filthy (so don't want to mess with a
computer anyway).

My only point is that they DO sell a lot of stuff at full asking price,
so why lower it?  That's the buyer's decision, not gouging where the
buyer has no choice.

My bigger beef with WM is hiring staff/clerks that give bad advice, but
that's for another day.

(BTW, Mike, thanks for the tip...I'll try to remember it).
