Mike,
I reinsulated the icebox and added a holding plate in Kilwinning #446
(liner). I raised the top by 5 in. To allow insulation on the top and lids.
I insulated most of the rest by building a new raised insulated bottom. The
back was insulated from the locker side. It's no perfect but has worked
well. The box is divided into 2 sections, the largest area is the refrig.
(engine side) and the smaller (hull side) holds the holding plate and is the
freezer area. I can send you a picture of the finished product if
interested.
Jacques

Subject: [Public-List] Top loading ice box
Has anyone ever removed the counter top on the top loading ice box on the
liner style boats. I am considering this project to insulate the ice box and
I am looking for advice from someone that has done this job in the past.
