I would also suggest Nanni engines.  They have 16 and 21 HP and use Kubota
blocks just like Betas.  The marinization is slightly different.

I have a 21 HP that was installed in 2007 and I love it.  It provides plenty
of power when I need it and it has run without incident.  The other
advantage is the East Coast distributor/dealer is in Annapolis.  Their
support has been terrific.
