A magnet moving over a conductor induces a voltage that, if allowed to
discharge through a curcuit, will discharge with a current that iduces
a magnetic field opposing the movement of the magnet. No circuit, means
no discharge, no current, and no opposing magnetic field. If there is a
circuit, the less resistance it presents, the more current we get from
the same voltage, and the stronger the opposing force on the magnet
gets. So conservation of energy still works...
